Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from shatabdimandal.com (the “Website”), how we use it, and who we share it with. By using the Website you agree to this policy. Terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms and conditions.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we hold information about a child under 13, please write to hello@shatabdimandal.com and we will delete it.

What we collect and why

Browsing. You can visit the Website without telling us who you are. We record general visit information such as your browser type and approximate location, to keep the site working and to understand what is popular.

Mailing list. If you join our list or ask to be told when an artwork is available again, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name and country. We use it to send you the news you asked for.

Purchases. When you buy, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address and shipping address. We use them to take payment, deliver your order, send receipts and download links, and keep records the law requires.

Payments. Payments are handled by Razorpay and PayPal on their own secure pages. We never see or store your card number, UPI details or bank details. We receive only confirmation that your payment succeeded, the amount and a reference number.

Cookies, analytics and advertising. We use cookies and similar technologies in three ways:

  • Essential cookies keep the Website working, for example remembering your India or Outside India choice and keeping your checkout going.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
  • Advertising. We use the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel and online ads to measure how well our adverts work and to show our artwork to people who may be interested, including on other websites and apps. The pixel can record that you viewed a page or artwork, added something to a cart or bought something, and link that to your Meta or Google account if you are signed in. We do not send Meta or Google your card or payment details.

Google and Meta act under their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features may then not work.

Opting out of analytics and ads

Email

We may email you about new artworks and drops that you asked to hear about. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of our emails, or by writing to hello@shatabdimandal.com. Emails about your order, such as receipts and delivery updates, are part of the service and are still sent.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the store, and only as much as they need:

  • Payment partners (Razorpay, PayPal) to take your payment.
  • Courier and shipping partners to deliver your order.
  • Analytics and advertising providers (Google and Meta) as described under Cookies, analytics and advertising.
  • Our mailing list provider (Kit) to send the drop announcements and news you signed up for.
  • Hosting and email providers (such as Cloudflare and our email delivery service) to run the Website and send you emails.
  • Authorities, if we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to prevent fraud or protect the rights, property or safety of the artist, our customers or others.

These companies have their own privacy policies, and we do not control them. Otherwise we share your information only with your consent.

Security

Your information is stored with reputable cloud providers and is accessible only to the artist and people she authorises to run the store. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and keep payment secrets out of the public site. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.

Your choices: access, correction and deletion

You can write to hello@shatabdimandal.com at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, unsubscribe, or ask us to delete it. We will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it. For example, we must keep invoices and records of completed purchases for tax and accounting purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is the one in force. By continuing to use the Website after a change, you accept the updated policy.
