Terms and conditions

These terms apply to purchases made on shatabdimandal.com (the “Website”). All items are sold at a fixed price. There are no auctions or bidding.

Definitions

• “Buyer” means a person who buys an Item from the Website.
• “Item” means an original artwork, a print of an artwork (framed or unframed), or a digital edition offered for sale on the Website.
• “Description” means all the details of an Item as shown on the Website. This may include the artist’s name, the title, the story or theme behind the artwork, the signature and date (if any), the surface, medium, dimensions and year, and any other information about the Item.

Terms of sale

1. Original artworks are made and kept by the artist and dispatched from India.
2. Items are sold at the price shown on the Website. No discounts are given unless an offer is running at the time of purchase. The price shown to buyers in India includes GST and delivery. The price shown to buyers outside India includes delivery but not import duties or taxes charged by the destination country.
3. Buyers outside India are responsible for any import duties, customs charges and taxes that apply in their country. These are payable in addition to the price of the Item.
4. The billing and shipping details the Buyer gives at checkout are final for the invoice and for delivery. Please check them carefully before paying.
5. Placing an order and completing payment is an irrevocable acceptance of the purchase and forms a binding contract of sale between shatabdimandal.com and the Buyer. We may cancel the order within 2 working days if the Buyer has breached these terms or if we cannot fulfil it, and in that case the payment is refunded in full.
6. Payment is taken in full at checkout through our payment partners (Razorpay for India, PayPal for other countries). An Item is held for the Buyer only while checkout is open. If payment is not completed, the Item is released for others.
7. We may cancel any order before delivery, and we reserve the right to accept or reject any order. If we cancel, the Buyer receives a full refund.
8. We try to keep every Description, price and image accurate, but errors and omissions can occur. If there is such an error, we may cancel the order by informing the Buyer in writing, and the Buyer will receive a full refund.
9. We dispatch an Item once payment is confirmed and any documents needed for transport or tax are complete. Transit insurance is included in the delivery cost unless the Buyer tells us otherwise in writing before dispatch.
10. The Buyer agrees to follow these terms. The Buyer confirms that the information given at checkout is true and accurate, and agrees to pay the price and all applicable charges and taxes.
11. We decide how an Item is illustrated and described on the Website, and whether to accept or reject an order.
12. Every original artwork on the Website comes with the artist’s authenticity guarantee (see Authenticity guarantee).
13. Photographs and screens show colours and texture as closely as we can, but they may differ slightly from the physical artwork. We do not provide a physical preview before or after the sale. A condition report is available on request. If we believe the artwork differs significantly from how it appears on the Website, we will email the Buyer and wait for the Buyer’s decision before going ahead with the order.

15. Prices are shown in Indian rupees (INR) for buyers in India and in US dollars (USD) for buyers outside India. Prices are rounded for ease of reading. The amount shown in the payment window is the amount charged.
